Phone: 615-936-7391Julia J. Kutaka joined the Huppert Lab in 2009 as a graduate student. Julia graduated from the University of California, Irvine, in 2006 with a degree in Cell and Developmental Biology. As an undergraduate, she worked in the lab of Dr. John Krolewski, studying TGFB signaling in prostate cancer. She also worked in the lab of Dr. Ann Sakai and Dr. Stephen Weller, in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, studying plant breeding systems of Oxalis and Schiedea. She continued to work for Drs. Sakai and Weller as a lab technician from 2006 to 2007 before entering the MSTP program at Vanderbilt University in 2007. Julia is currently studying the role of Notch signaling in the oval cell response upon chemical injury of the liver.
