Melanie Stoltz Brown obtained her masters in Molecular Biology in 1998 from the University of Missouri. Melanie worked in industry from 1980-2000 while obtaining her education. While working at the St. Louis, MO based branches of Monsanto and Pharmacia/Pfizer, she specialized in designing experiments to examine the in vivo impact of novel cardiovascular drugs in multiple animal species, performing both pharmacology and toxicology studies. After taking time to pursue her art career in Seattle, WA, Melanie joined the Huppert lab in the fall of 2005 and worked as a Research Assistant II until Spring 2007. She currently resides in Sturgeon, MO. Melanie is also accomplished in natural horsemanship, which is portrayed in her watercolor artwork.
