I graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2008 with a BS in Biochemistry. My undergraduate research focused on characterizing the nature of a symbiotic relationship formed between two bacteria. After graduation, I worked in a microbiology lab for a year before entering the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences at Vanderbilt. My work in the Labosky lab focuses on elucidating genetic targets of the transcription factor Foxd3, and working to understand the role of these targets in self-renewal and pluripotency of embryonic stem cells. I am being supported by the Reproductive Biology Training Grant from the National Institutes of Health.
