Members, family and friends of the Vanderbilt Center for Stem Cell Biology (VCSCB) teamed up once again for the 14th annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Walk to Cure Diabetes held on September 29, 2007.
This year’s Team Captain was Jenny Plank from the laboratory of Patricia A. Labosky. T-shirts for the VCSCB walkers were generously donated by Identity Inc.
The walk took place at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park in Nashville, TN. Over 3,000 walkers participated in the event, and enjoyed complimentary food and refreshments, kid’s activities, and live musical performances.
Thus far, the JDRF has raised over $550,000 towards its fundraising goals this year from this very successful event, and donations continue to roll in. The VCSCB continues to be a proud supporter of the JDRF, as we continue in our efforts to advance stem cell biology and towards a cure for diabetes.
