VCSCB Website Version 2.8 Released

We are pleased to announce the release of version 2.8 of the VCSCB website. Below is a list of new features, enhancements, and bug fixes. We thank you again for all your ideas and suggestions.

As you explore this new version, let us know if you run across any glitches or other incompatibilities that were not caught in testing. Furthermore, please "clear your cache" on your web browser to ensure you load the new version of the website. Please note that the website will function best on modern browsers such as Firefox 2+, Safari 3+, Chrome 1+, and IE7+.

New features & enhancements:

  • Managed Content: Comprehensive updates of Services, Policies, and Protocols for the Transgenic Mouse / ESC Shared Resource.
  • Publications (Member Profile): The mechanism for retrieving and managing publications has been improved.
  • Faculty Member Profiles: 12 new Faculty Member profiles have been updated with research interests, publications, and minimal contact information. We urge our Faculty Members to log into the website and update their profile and publications list.
  • Gene Targeting Experiment Tracker:
    • Experiment Listing:
      1. GTET experiments may be deleted from the main list view.
      2. "Core Administrators" can now delete experiments.
    • Design Phase:
      1. GTET experiments can be shared between TMESCSR and the BCBC mESC Core.
      2. PCR Primers for RMCE experiments should now default to being ordered by orientation.
      3. Screening Phase: New formlet for karyotyping results
    • Postgermline Phase:
      1. This phase tab is now available at any stage, allowing reagent shipments to be recorded before an experiment is complete.
      2. Ability to track cryopreservation of sperm as well as embryos.
      3. Ability to upload of up to 20 miscellaneous images and their descriptions, associated with the experiment.
  • Plasmid Vector collection:
    • Now available to Huppert and Labosky Labs (please contact us for a training session).
    • You may now clone any plasmid you are able to view; this will bring you to the edit page of a copy owned by you.
    • All text fields are now searchable.
    • Concentration of antibiotic for Bacterial Antibiotic Resistance was removed.
  • Navigation:
    • Top menu now has a "Faculty" heading
    • Navigation options have been re-ordered
