VCSCB Students Win Top Awards at the 2nd Annual Southeastern Stem Cell Consortium Workshop

The 2nd Annual Southeastern Stem Cell Consortium Workshop took place in Athens, Georgia at the University of Georgia campus on October 15-16, 2009. A major focus of the meeting was neural stem cells and epigenetic regulation of "stemness". Nathan Mundell (GS, Labosky Lab) won the award for best talk by a graduate student and Melissa Steapleton (GS, Hiebert lab) took the best poster award. Next year the meeting will be on the Vanderbilt campus, organized by Trish Labosky, the date is yet to be finalized.
