Services and Pricing
The Mouse and ES Cell Shared Resource offers a variety of services listed on this page including the pricing.
Priority is given to Vanderbilt Investigators who are members of one or more of the 5 Research Centers that subsidize this facility. These Supporting Centers include the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, the Diabetes Research and Training Center, the Center for Molecular Neuroscience, the Kennedy Center, and the Vanderbilt Vision Research Center. Vanderbilt investigators who are not members of one of these centers are also eligible to use all of the services of this resource.
All services are billed using the Core Facility Usage and Invoicing System (CFUIS). The costs for providing each service will be divided into two parts. A prebill for half of the cost of performing the service will be invoiced on the day that the service begins. The remainder of the cost of the service will be invoiced once the experiment has been completed and the supporting Center discount, if applicable, will be applied at this time.

- Plus the cost of female mice, shipping and crate charges, and per diem for each cryopreservation experiment
- No center discount is available for this annual service charge
- $7,200 for Southern blots (or $6,000 for DNA plates) billed regardless of whether or not germline transmission is achieved to cover expenses incurred by the facility for performing the experiment
